Indian nationals traveling from India to Abu Dhabi can obtain UAE entry visas free of charge when they book holiday packages of at least three nights, according to a new initiative by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).

The program, which runs from August 1, 2023, to October 31, 2026, will initially provide up to 20,000 visas at no cost. Eligible travelers must book through participating travel agencies or online travel platforms and stay for a minimum of three consecutive nights in Abu Dhabi hotels, with a return flight to India.

DCT Abu Dhabi will cover the full visa fees for qualifying bookings made via approved travel partners. Travel companies can either process visas through a Destination Management Company appointed by DCT Abu Dhabi, which will directly pay the visa costs, or continue working with their existing partners and receive a reimbursement of Dh285 per visa issued.

This initiative is part of DCT Abu Dhabi's ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the Indian market, enhance air connectivity, and expand travel trade partnerships. The department aims to encourage Indian visitors to explore Abu Dhabi's cultural, entertainment, hospitality, and natural attractions.

Abdulla Yousuf, Director of International Operations at DCT Abu Dhabi, emphasized India's importance as a key international market and highlighted the visa waiver as a way to simplify travel arrangements and incentivize travel partners to promote Abu Dhabi.

“By covering the cost of UAE entry visas, we are making it simpler for Indian travellers to choose Abu Dhabi while giving our travel partners another compelling reason to recommend the destination,” Yousuf said.

The program is expected to increase the number of Indian tourists spending extended periods discovering the emirate’s offerings.
