The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat (Awqaf) in the UAE announced that registration for Emirati citizens wishing to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in 2027 will open on September 14, 2026.

Applicants will be selected through an automated screening process based on approved criteria and requirements. The registration period will remain open until September 25, 2026. Emirati nationals can apply via the Awqaf authority’s smart application and website.

The names of approved pilgrims will be released on October 9, 2026, after which the selected individuals will be contacted to complete the necessary procedures for the pilgrimage.

In 2026, the UAE approved 6,228 citizens to undertake Hajj. This year, more than 1.7 million pilgrims from 165 countries participated in the pilgrimage.

The Awqaf authority emphasized its commitment to adhering to this timetable to ensure early preparations for the upcoming Hajj season. The goal is to provide optimal services to pilgrims both within the UAE and at the holy sites in Makkah.

In July, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reviewed plans aimed at improving the Hajj experience for Emirati pilgrims. These plans focus on enhancing services, strengthening support, and facilitating smoother journeys from departure to return. Sheikh Mohamed highlighted that ensuring the wellbeing of Emirati pilgrims throughout their pilgrimage remains a key priority.

According to Saudi Arabian authorities, the final deadline for Umrah pilgrims to exit the Kingdom is April 7, 2027, ahead of the Hajj season. Based on astronomical calculations, Arafah Day, which marks the peak of the Hajj pilgrimage, is expected to occur on May 15, 2027.
